Teaching Requirements for Valley Music Together®

Do you think teaching Music Together classes is in your future? We are always looking for new teachers. Requirements for teaching our classes are as follows:
1. Interview with Gina and Amity to discuss teaching qualifications and other requirements. A resume and three references will be needed at this time.

2. Apprentice (unpaid) for one full semester with one or more of our experienced teachers.

3. Attend Music Together teacher training and pass the three day workshop. Music Together requires that you are able to sing in tune to become a certified teacher.

If, after all of these requirements have been met, all parties agree that the applicant is a good fit for the Valley Music Together culture, then you will become a contracted teacher and placed in your own classroom in a location in the Lehigh Valley. If you are interested, please email or call us at 610-360-1439

Gina and Amity

Amity Cassaday

Music and children have always been a part of Amity's life. She danced for many years and has a degree in elementary and kindergarten education from Penn State University. She is married and lives with her husband Jason, their daughters Amelia and Adelaide and their four pets. Amity has worked with children of all ages in many different settings, including a semester teaching in England and ten summers working at Moravian Academy's Green Pond Day Camp. She was a classroom teacher for 4 years before deciding to have a family. Amity discovered Music Together as a parent when she took her then 1 year old daughter to her first semester. She and her children fell in love with the program and the positive and nurturing environment it provided for everyone. She and her daughters went on to take 5 semesters of Music Together, so when the opportunity arose to teach classes and direct the program, she jumped at the chance. Amity truly believes that ALL children are born musical and that the more we, as parents, encourage and embrace that musicality the richer our children's lives will be. This will be her fourth semester teaching Music Together, and she's excited to continue singing and dancing with all of our Music Together families.

Danielle Frank

Hello. My name is Danielle Frank, and I'm looking forward to working with you as a family. My love for music stems from my childhood. My immediate and extended family is full of musicians, a few professionally. Therefore, I value musical experiences for children and have felt those joys first hand. I am a mother of one boy, and I am enjoying the privilege of being on leave to spend time with him. My husband and I have both taught elementary school for the past eleven years, and I worked with preschool prior to my elementary teaching. I also have a degree in theater performance, and participated in theater throughout my life. Additionally, our family has enjoyed international travel extensively, and I have welcomed the impact of many cultures in our lives, both artistically and personally. I am excited to create music with all of you soon.
